The Bulgarian Law on the Citizenship
It was about time to have an accurate English translation of the Bulgarian Citizenship Law. Now, with the assistance of the team of Citizenship and Investment, the English translation is available here.
The Citizenship Law is subject to many critics, mainly because of the collision with the Bulgarian Constitution in this who is considered to be Bulgarian citizen. The Constitution clearly states that a Bulgarian citizen is anyone who has at least one parent – Bulgarian citizen. The Citizenship Law however is foreseeing a naturalisation procedure for those who have not been born by Bulgarian citizen. This collision is very serious addressed by the team of Citizenship and Investment. They are currently preparing a petition to the Bulgarian Parliament and the Constitutional Court.
